NRTC Wins Itron Engage Outstanding Performance Awards

For a second straight year, Itron has recognized NRTC with its Engage Award for channel partners. NRTC, which is leading or has led a number of innovative automated metering infrastructure (AMI) projects with Itron’s Gen5 AMI Network technology, won two awards for “outstanding performance.”

“Itron is a critical partner to NRTC’s Smart Grid business unit and [NRTC staff’s] extra effort and hard work have positioned us well going forward,” said Greg Bartolomei, NRTC’s president, Smart Grid Solutions.

NRTC received an Outstanding Performance award for finalizing the most Gen5 contracts. Gen5 combines wireless communications to electric meters with many features that allow electric utilities, as well as several other industries, to expand automated capabilities and explore the internet of things (IoT). Itron also recognized NRTC for initiating the first project to combine electric AMI and streetlighting controls.

In 2021, Itron named NRTC an “Engage Champion” for promoting the Gen5 concept.
