CrowdFiber Working Closely With Members to Perfect CrowdControl

“There were three major initiatives for us last year,” says Bailey White, VP, Product Development, and co-found of NRTC’s CrowdFiber. The first two, Broadband Consumer Labels and Managed Speed Test, have been very popular with NRTC members. Now CrowdFiber is continuing the development of the third initiative – CrowdControl.

This new feature of the CrowdFiber platform combines geographic mapping on the same screen with quantitative and qualitative data tables. Users can pinpoint member locations while editing individual customer data automatically, without having to jump to individual data documents. Users access zone name, contact email address, and several other customizable columns.

CrowdFiber is actively working with members to discover how many CrowdControl use cases it can find. Members during a Jan. 30 webcast viewed a live demo of CrowdControl’s beta-version capabilities. Users suggested that the tool would be especially useful for those who need to pull lists of data and edit zones.  Other members said they would like to use it to track sales, as well as increase functions and user friendliness for the overall sales process.

CrowdControl’s origins date back to 2020, when CrowdFiber developed software using mapping data to assist members as they bid for broadband support in the FCC’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) reverse auction. “I’ve been wanting to do this feature since 2021, so it’s a long time coming.” White said.

CrowdFiber is planning more webcasts as continued development moves forward. Watch for announcements of times and dates.
