As Vice President of Smart Grid Solutions at NRTC, Milton works for members to provide solar, storage, microgrid, and grid intelligence planning and solutions to electric co-ops. Milt brings over 20 years of experience in rural energy issues, having previously served at Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association (CO) as energy resource director, where he directed nationally recognized utility and community solar, microgrid, rate design, demand response, and energy efficiency efforts.
He also focused on rural renewable energy issues in roles at both the University of Wyoming (UW) Extension/School of Energy Resources and USDA Rural Development-Wyoming. He holds numerous certifications, including Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Manager and Renewable Energy Professional.
He earned a B.A. in Environmental Economics from Colgate University, a dual M.S. in Agricultural/Applied Economics and Environment/Natural Resources from UW, and a graduate certificate in Cooperative Management from Saint Mary’s University (Canada).
Milt is also a proud alumnus of the NRECA Robert Kabat Management Internship Program.
