NRTC’s annual meeting for electric cooperatives, set for Sunday, March 9 in Atlanta, will feature guest speaker Brittany Hodak, author of the book Creating Superfans. Her presentation will follow normal annual meeting business, which will include announcement of board election results and speeches from Board Chaiman Jimmy Todd of Nex‐Tech in Lenora, KS, and NRTC CEO Tim Bryan. The activity will all begin at 2 p.m. at the Thomas Murphy Ballroom in the Georgia World Congress Center.
Hodak’s talk on strategies to build strong ties between businesses and customers was a hit at NRTC’s TechConnect 2024 conference in Horseshoe Bay, TX. Positive comments from members attending led NRTC to bring her back for the larger annual meeting audience. Her background as a corporate executive overseeing “customer experience” as well as leading her own “fan engagement” firm, has led Hodek to work with Walmart, Disney and Amazon, as well as with top celebrities.
NTRC will hold an online election for three electric board seats for Districts 2, 5 and 7, prior to March 9, and will officially announce the results during the annual meeting. As already announced, the three incumbent board members in those seats are running unopposed: Gary Stooksbury of Aiken Electric Cooperative in South Carolina; Shaun Lamp of Great Lakes Energy in Michigan, and Mark Scheibe of Heartland Rural Electric Cooperative in Kansas.
Concurrent with the annual meeting, NRECA is holding its annual PowerXchange/TechAdvantage Conference and Expo. Among the many events there, be sure to stop by the TechAdvantage session “Leveraging Advanced Planning Tools and Strategies to Maximize the Financial and Operational Impact of DER.” NRTC’s Jacob Bailey, director of Smart Grid Technology Planning, and Josh Pepple, VP, Smart Grid Technology Planning will describe software tools NRTC has developed to improve distributed energy operations. The hour-long session is set for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11.
And we invite all members attending the expo to stop by Booth #1634 for updates on NRTC’s many technology solutions and to greet our representatives there.
