The latest TechConnect conference, NRTC’s regular update of telecom and electric utility business and technology, has concluded and feedback from members suggests a complete success. NRTC attracted a record attendance for the May 14-16 meeting in Horseshoe Bay, TX. Attendees found a full agenda of solid content and time to enjoy networking and fellowship, food and music, and a few exotic animals.

Among the speakers for the general sessions, best-selling author Erik Qualman offered ideas on how to meet the challenges of the digital future by understanding societal trends and human nature as much as the technology. That blended well with the message from Jeremy Graves, president of NRTC’s Pivot, who discussed the culture within companies and need to enhance the employee experience. Keynoter Brittany Hodak, an entrepreneur who appeared on the TV show Shark Tank, described how success comes with understanding the customer experience and how to create “Super Fans.”

NRTC staff provided full days of focused content for members who work with NRTC Broadband Solutions, Managed Services, Smart Grid Solutions and Mobile Solutions. TechConnect is an invitation-only event for NRTC members.

The only slight drawback to this year’s event was a bit of rain, which hampered or abbreviated golfing and some other excursions. However, an exhibition of Texas bronco busting skills went forward as scheduled and reportedly was a hit with the crowd.

NRTC has already begun planning the next TechConnect, which it plans to hold in Fall 2025. Look for an announcement of the site and dates later this year.
