Building

See it all come together on time and in budget

Any vendor can sell you a technology product; NRTC’s focus is helping you implement technology solutions.

Deploying or expanding a broadband network requires design, engineering, and large-scale project management expertise. Without those, a multi-million-dollar project can quickly spiral out of control – behind schedule and over budget.

Our experienced team can help guide you through the process, starting with design and engineering services that help you build the optimal implementation plan. Our construction and project management expertise can benefit everything from the RFP process to materials procurement.

If you’re enhancing smart grid infrastructure, NRTC staff can help you determine how new technologies will interface with those you’ve already implemented as well as the operational and billing systems you count on to manage your network and customer experience.

Building and integration is where great technology ideas can turn into major headaches. NRTC’s team can help you avoid those pitfalls by lending its expertise and partnering with you throughout your implementation.

During a speech the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel outlined the activities the FCC currently is doing to improve cyber security. “We are doing a lot—in fact, right now the agency is doing more to address network security than at any point in its history,” she said.

Ericsson, NRTC and West Kentucky RECC Advance Smart Grid Wireless

NRTC has been working with Ericsson to develop private Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks to assist rural electric cooperatives deploying smart grid technologies. Ericsson has published a case study of a trial private LTE network at West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corp. The trial deployment showed how a utility can save costs by supporting SCADA, voice communications, fixed wireless access and other applications on a single, high-speed and reliable network. At the same time, the private network will support future smart grid applications and devices, which NRTC believes will evolve regularly in coming years.
